Calculators cannot be found in the test centre, and you aren't able to lend a calculator.

Quick Facts

  • Only the calculators on this webpage are acceptable in the Math Test-Calculator part of the test.
  • You should not utilize any calculator during portions of the Reading, Writing and Language, or Math Test--No Calculator portions, and must put away the calculator aside during these sections on the examination.
  • You'll be dismissed and your marks canceled should you utilize your calculator to communicate information during the test, or to remove questions or their answers from the testing room.

Calculator Smarts

  • Bring your personal calculator. You cannot share one.
  • Don't bring a completely new calculator. Bring one that you are familiar with. Make sure you practice for the test using the same calculator that you'll use on the day of your test.
  • The Math Test includes some questions that require you to make use of a calculator, even though it's permitted.
  • It could be beneficial to do scratch work on the test book. Make notes before you use your calculator.
  • Make sure your calculator is in condition and the batteries are in good condition. The test center will not have extra calculators or batteries. If your calculator malfunctions during the test and you have no backup, you'll have to complete the test without it.

Acceptable Calculators

If you own an calculator with characters that are 1 inch or more or if the calculator features a display that is raised that could be visible to other test takers, you'll be placed in the test at the discretion that of your test instructor.

Only handheld equipment powered by batteries can be used for testing. There are no power cords allowed.

Unacceptable Calculators

It is not permitted to utilize any of these items as a calculator:

  • Laptops and other computers, tablets, mobile phones, smartwatches, or wearable technology
  • Models that have access to the Internet can be wirelessly connected, Bluetooth, cellular, audio/video recording and playback, camera, or any other smartphone-type features
  • Models with a computer style (QWERTY) keypad, pen input, or stylus
  • Models that utilize electricity outlets, make sounds or even have a paper tape
  • In addition, the usage of hardware peripherals , such as stylus with an approved calculator is not permitted. Certain models with touchscreen capability aren't allowed (e.g., Casio ClassPad).
